Dear Johannes,

Thank you for Grid Machine contribution to the ArcView user community. My assistant, Annabelle, and I are very happy to send you this picture postcard from the Philippines.

Your extension is great, although I would like to know if you already have the grid to polyline conversion feature that you said you'd be incorporating in your later releases. I'm trying to convert a topographical map which I scanned and did an unsupervised classification on. I then recoded it so that only two grid values were present. The problem with the available raster to vector (polyline) tools is that they tend to create a polyline grid of all the valued grid cells. I was hoping for more of like a line-following tool so that I can vectorize the scanned raster map having only one vector line per uniform grid value width. Please tell me if I am making sense and I'll send you more info.

Once again, thanks a lot!

PS: my shirt asks, "Is America Ready?" --- NOT! (for war at least!)
